Kontronik

The Kontronik Jive ESCs are placed at the middle price segment. The controllers can drive all 2 to 6-pole motors - LRK motors can be used too. Many other programming options are accessible via an optional programming card. The housing features a completely enclosed ESC wich is totally splash-water-prooven. With the (optional) programming card the BEC voltage can be adjusted from 5-6 volt to get the maximum out of high power digital steering servos. This programming card shows the actual settings via several LEDs and therefore the changes can be made only in the area needed. The ESCs have a proportional brake and feature the following data:

- splash-proof housing (yet easy to upgrade, even with a heat sink or a fan)
- reverse can be switched off
- integrated (switched) BEC for up to 18 Nixx cells (up to 6S Lipo)
- useable amount of Lipo cells: 2-6
- useable amount of Nixx cells: 6-18
- max. power: 80-100 ampere (depending on version, with additional cooling much more)
- easy radio setup
- optional programming card
- measurements: 70 x 32 x 15mm (2.76x1.26x0.59", depending on version)
- weight: 84 - 92 gramm (0.19 - 0.20 lb, depending on version)

The following parameters can be set with the prog. card I:

- fixed throttle (throttle endpoints will be set in this step)
- low voltage cutoff  (Nixx: 0,7/0,8/0,9/1,0 Volt per cell,
  Lipo: 2,5/2,7/2,8/3,0 Volt per cell)
- brake on/off
- governor on/off
- time for spin-up in governor mode  6/8/10/12 seconds
- motortiming: auto/-5°/+5°/+10°/+15°
- startup: smooth/fast

The following parameters can be set with the prog. card II:

- F3A-Brake 10-100% (in steps of 2,5%)
- BEC-voltage (5-6 Volt in steps of 0,2 Volt)
- reverse motor direction
- governor fine tuning
- lower throttle-hold time when receiver signal is lost

Of course the “Power Jazz 63V” ESC with a capability of up to 15S Lipo (up to 45 Nixx cells) and a maximum continous amp draw of up to 120 ampere (creating about 7,5 kW of performance!) is available too. However this extreme powerful ESC has a major drawback for the use in a car - it has no proportional brake!
The ESC can be used in any application wich uses a brake servo and is mostly designed for big scale models (wich do already have a mechanical brake).
The other parameters of the "Power Jazz 63V" are the same than the Jive ESC series.
